Year 10 Humanities
grades with an expert one-on-one tutor in
Bayside
Our tutors will teach Year 10 students following the Australian curriculum, ensuring they develop a comprehensive understanding of history, geography, civics, and economics. By the end of Year 10, students analyse the causes and consequences of key historical events, describe the effects of human activity on environments, and evaluate Australia's role in global affairs. They examine how economic indicators influence government policies and how businesses respond to changing conditions. Students develop skills in critical analysis, research, and presenting evidence-based arguments on diverse social, political, and economic topics, equipping them for active and informed participation in society.
History:
Year 10 students study the history of Australia and the world from 1918 to the present, focusing on significant events like the Second World War, the Holocaust, and the rise of the civil rights movement. They explore Australia's role in global conflicts and peace-building efforts, as well as the social, political, and economic changes that have shaped modern Australia. The curriculum highlights key events such as post-war migration, the fight for rights by First Nations Australians, and the development of Australia's national identity in the context of global changes.
Geography:
Students examine "Environmental change and management" and "Geographies of human wellbeing." They explore the effects of human activities on the environment, the challenges of sustainable management, and the role of different world views in addressing environmental change. They also study global and regional variations in human wellbeing, including disparities in living standards and efforts to improve wellbeing in Australia and the Asia-Pacific region.
Civics and Citizenship:
Students learn about Australia's federal system of government, comparing it to other systems in the Asia-Pacific region. They study the role of the High Court in protecting rights and examine how international obligations shape Australian law and policy. The curriculum also addresses challenges to sustaining a resilient democracy and a cohesive society, including the impact of globalisation, human rights, and Australia’s participation in international organisations like the United Nations.
Economics and Business:
Year 10 students focus on "Productivity, growth, and living standards," exploring how economic indicators like inflation and employment influence government decision-making. They study the role of government intervention in managing the economy and how businesses respond to changing economic conditions. The curriculum also covers the importance of Australia's superannuation system in financial decision-making and strategies for improving productivity and managing the workforce in a competitive market.

Tutoring can happen anywhere based on your individual needs. We have tutors that can travel to your home or a nearby meeting spot. Currently, we are providing in-person tutoring services in Melbourne and Sydney. Additionally, we have online tutoring offerred for students in Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth.
We recommend that tutoring occurs once a week. This allows the tutor and the student to get to know each other well and form a bond. However, the frequency of tutoring is completely up to you. If you would prefer to have multiple sessions a week or just need a tutor once a month, that can also be arranged.
Private tutoring is extremely effective for all types of students. The major benefit of private tutoring is the personalised, one-on-one support. Often in schools, a teacher has to teach 20+ students at once, as a result, if you miss something or fall behind it can be tough to catch up. With a private tutor, students can learn at their own pace, take time to explore new topics and ask as many questions as they want.
Whether you are a top achiever striving for the best marks or a student who is just looking to keep up, private tutoring with Apex Tuition Australia provides an intimate learning environment that builds confidence, promotes curiosity and improves grades.
At Apex Tuition Australia, the cost of tutoring depends on the student's age and preference of location. There are four different prices:
